The 5th
biennial Nevil Shute Conference will be held at Alice Springs in
Australia from 22nd to 27th April 2007. This will be a unique
opportunity to discuss and discover more about the life and work of this
best-selling author in the location he made famous in his much loved
novel, "A Town Like Alice", also known as "The Legacy".

Full day of presentations*
beginning with the
keynote address "Nevil Shute's Legacy" by
David Weir

Tuesday 24th April |
A
Town Like Alice tour. We will be visiting places mentioned in the
book, as well as other places in and around Alice Springs. Our day
will begin with the dedication of Nevil Shute Memorial Garden at the
Alice Springs Library. Tonight's special evening is a mystery.
Dinner and transportation included!

Dawn - ANZAC Day Service
(Transportation provided but attendance is
not compulsory!)
Full day of presentations

Thursday 26th April |
Excursion day in and around the Alice Springs
area. Our traditional Conference Banquet will be held tonight
with the Mayor of Alice Springs, Fran Kilgariff, as our Honoured
Speaker

Friday 27th April |
Final full day of presentations and close of the
Conference
|
*There is an
impressive lineup of Speakers with topics as diverse and fascinating as
the Presenters themselves. Some are veterans of previous Conferences but
we have new speakers too
